Microneedling

Microneedling is ideal for treating fine lines, wrinkles, sun-damaged skin, dilated pores, scars from surgery, injury and acne, stretch marks and uneven or excess pigmentation in the skin, including skin conditions such as vitiligo and rosacea. It can also be used to treat milia (small cysts under the skin) and alopecia.

Specific treatments can:

• tackle under-eye puffiness and fat pads
• improve the skin’s overall tone

The devices stimulate the skin with surgical-grade micro needles. This ‘injury’ encourages the production of collagen and elastin by stimulating the skin’s natural healing response. The increase in collagen and elastin rejuvenates and revitalises the skin. Treatment can only be performed by a qualified practitioner.

RRS is a non-surgical injectable treatment, delivered as a form of mesotherapy. Mesotherapy involves multiple injections of vitamins, enzymes and extracts into the upper dermis to rejuvenate and tighten the skin. The special RRS formulations contain ingredients such as Hyaluronic Acid, amino acids, antioxidants and vitamins. In fact, the individual products can have as many as 72 different active ingredients! These are injected to bio-revitalise the skin, in a safe and effective treatment for the face and body. The treatment also helps to stimulate the production of collagen, which over time helps to improve the elasticity and tone of your skin.

The complete RRS range consists of 14 different products in total, which means that Dr. Mayoni can find the ideal combination for your individual needs and desired outcomes.

The INTRAcel treatment combines micro-needling with Radiofrequency (RF). It is used for resurfacing the skin, encouraging the production of collagen and elastin. It targets heat energy below the surface of the skin. There is down time of up to one week while peeling and flaking clears.

Dermaroller rolls over the skin, whereas these devices deliver vertical channels into the skin, minimising damage, downtime and discomfort. Unlike Dermaroller, the devices allow the speed and depth to be customised. The RRS Meso-gun also allows the injection of tiny amounts of beneficial vitamins, enzymes and extracts into the upper dermis, getting to work exactly where you need them.

Down-time depends upon the treatment you receive. Dr Mayoni will advise you in full at your initial consultation so you know exactly what to expect. You may experience redness of the skin (erythema) in the days post-treatment. You will be advised if you should avoid UV exposure (sun exposure), intensive exercise, hot showers and other clinical treatments, to allow the skin to heal fully. You should also avoid spray or self-tanning, swimming in chlorinated pools or the ocean, and tattooing of any kind for the first two days.

Again this depends upon the specific micro-needling treatment, but results are typically seen after just one treatment. Cumulative treatments may be recommended to achieve the full desired result. Generalised rejuvenation can be achieved in as little as three treatments, other conditions may need more sessions. The regenerating process will continue for up to 24 months post-treatment.
