What are your concerns?
We have a full range of treatments that tackle common skincare and body care concerns, from fine lines, wrinkles and pigmentation to thread veins, rosacea and excess sweating. Take a look at each of the concerns below to find out more.
Acne
Acne isn’t just a problem for teenagers! Many adults also suffer from it, especially at times of stress or hormonal change. If acne is getting you down, there’s lots that can be done to help. A carefully planned treatment regime will help to address both the causes and the effects of adult acne, including scarring or pigmentation changes. After a consultation, Dr Mayoni will design a bespoke treatment plan from our full range of options.
Ageing: lines and/or wrinkles
As one of the most common signs of ageing, lines and wrinkles can really add years to your face. They can be hereditary (according to your skin type) and exacerbated by lifestyle factors (for example spending lots of time outdoors or smoking). We have a range of approaches to reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles, from advanced prescription skincare products to microneedling and injectable treatments.
Ageing: looking tired or run down
For some, one of the main concerns with ageing is that they feel their face looks tired – even when they don’t feel it! Perhaps your skin is looking dull and lifeless, or you have puffy areas and dark circles around your eyes? We have a range of treatments that can help to address this, leaving your face looking refreshed and revitalised.
Ageing: my face/jaw line is saggy
Many women find that their face and jaw line lose definition at they get older, and areas of the face (for example under the eyes and nasolabial folds) become saggy. This is a natural process, especially after menopause, as natural production of elastin and collagen decline. We treat this using a combination of products
Ageing: my neck is wrinkled/saggy
The neck area can become wrinkled and crépey as we age and natural production of elastin and collagen (the substances that give your skin bounce!) declines. If you are feeling self-conscious about your neck and decolletage, we can help to improve the skin firmness.
Dermatitis, Eczema and Psoriasis
Anyone who suffers from these conditions knows they can really impact on quality of life. Dr Mayoni can advise on prescription skincare. Light therapy has also been found to be helpful in treating more stubborn cases. We offer Dermalux light therapy at The Clinic.
Excessive Sweating
Also known as hyperhidrosis, the most commonly affected areas include the armpits, the face and chest, the palms of the hands, the groin and the soles of the feet. It can be difficult to live with, leaving sufferers feeling embarrassed and distressed. If you have been diagnosed with hyperhidrosis, treatment with botulinum toxin (Botox ™) can help.
Melasma
Melasma is a skin problem that causes dark patches of excess pigment in the skin. It can often occur during pregnancy, when it is also know as chloasma. It is also more common among those who tan easily or have naturally brown skin (Fitzpatrick skin types III and IV). We have effective treatments to reduce the appearance of melasma
Moles / skin lesions / warts / skin tags
If you have unwanted moles, skin lesions, warts or skin tags you would like to remove, Dr Mayoni can advise you on a course of action.
Rosacea
Rosacea is a common long-term skin condition. It often begins with episodes of flushing, and can lead to permanent redness, particularly on the cheeks, nose, forehead and chin, visible small blood vessels and spots and bumps in the skin. Although there is no cure, there is plenty that can be done to help reduce outbreaks and improve the appearance of your skin. Dr Mayoni has developed her own treatment approach that uses a combination of topical skincare products alongside a course of phototherapy.
Scarring
Scarring can be caused by injury or previous skincare problems such as acne. Treatment stimulates the skin’s healing and regeneration properties to reduce the appearance of scarring. This includes using a combination of treatments to a bespoke treatment plan.
Teeth Grinding (Bruxism)
Bruxism is when you grind or clench your teeth, and it may happen unconsciously when you are awake or during your sleep. It can cause headaches, facial pain, earache, pain in the jaw and surrounding muscles, disrupted sleep and worn-down teeth. Injecting small doses of botulinum toxin into the correct muscle in the jaw can weaken the muscle and stop the grinding.
Thread Veins
Also known as spider veins, these are tiny veins just under the surface of the skin that have become dilated and more visible. Usually red or blue in colour, they are often hereditary, and are more likely to occur during hormonal surges. Thread veins most often appear on the thighs, although they can appear anywhere on the body. They can be simply treated to reduce their prominence. We use a technique called microsclerotherapy to remove thread veins below the level of the heart, and the Vein Away device for thread veins on the face
